Profile
Jim Adams, Ed.D. is executive director of the Center for Global Learning & Engagement (CGLE). The CGLE at APU includes study abroad, graduate programs abroad, and Operation Impact, a field-based program offering the Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership at various locations throughout the world. Adams has served in ministry and academic leadership positions for over thirty years, as well as performing consulting work in several schools and universities. Prior to coming to APU, he was the superintendent and chief executive officer of the Western Christian Schools, and previously vice president and chief operating officer at Life Pacific College in San Dimas. His research interests include international education and leadership, faculty performance, and developing creative leadership in the local church. Adams is passionate about developing leaders in the global context, and has taught leadership courses in institutions worldwide over the past thirteen years. He is currently a member of the Master's Studies Council, MAOL Advisory Council and the WASC Executive Steering Committee at APU, and has been active in a number of local community groups and boards. As an ordained minister, he serves in leadership at his church in Pomona, Calif. and is a member of the licensing and doctrine committee of his denomination
