What is LINK+?
LINK+ is a single catalog which lists materials (books only) in the collections of participating libraries. LINK+ allows patrons from member libraries to electronically request an item not available in their own library, and to have that item delivered to their own library for check-out. LINK+ is available to authorized patrons of the participating libraries in California. LINK+ may be accessed directly from our APOLIS2-Library Catalog or while using the local catalogs of participating libraries. Generally books may be borrowed if they are listed as "available" in the catalog. An item may arrive at the requestor's library in 2 to 4 days and will be held for up for 10 days. APU will mail the book directly to Regional Center requestors. The loan period is 21 days with one renewal. Patrons may have 15 LINK+ transactions at any one time.
How do I request a book?
When you find and select a book you want, you will see a link indicating how many LINK+ libraries own the book.
- Click on the ownership link
- Verify that there are available copies in the LINK+ system
- Click "REQUEST THIS ITEM"
- Select your Library from the Drop-Down list and click "Submit above information"
- Fill in the information asked for and click "SUBMIT.
- Your request is then forwarded to the owning library. They will pull the book and ship it to your library for you to pick up. APU will mail the book directly to Regional Center requestors.
Alternatively you may click on "REQUEST THIS ITEM" from the item display.
- Select your Library from the Drop-Down list and click "Submit above information"
- Fill in the information asked for and click "SUBMIT"
- Your request is then forwarded to the owning library. They will pull the book and ship it to your library for you to pick up. APU will mail the book directly to Regional Center requestors.
How long does it take to receive a book?
Time between making a request for an available item and picking up the item is approximately 2 to 4 days. Items will be held for pick up for 10 days. Time is added when APU mails the book directly to Regional Center requestors.
How many requests may I make?
Patrons may have 15 LINK+ transactions at any one time. This includes pending requests, received books, and returned books still in transit.
What is the loan period? May I renew?
The loan period is 21 days with one renewal of 2 weeks.
How do I check on the status of a LINK+ request?
Inquire at the Circulation Desk in one of the Azusa campus libraries. LINK+ requests are listed under holds. When the status is listed as 'RECV'D' the item is ready for pickup. Regional Center requestors may contact the Interlibrary Services staff at 626-815-6000 ext. 3272 or illdept@apu.edu.
How do I cancel a LINK+ request?
Inquire at the Circulation Desk in one of the Azusa campus libraries. A LINK+ request can be cancelled if an item still has a "Requested" status it. If the item is 'In Transit' or 'Recv'd' the request may not be cancelled. Regional Center requestors may contact the Interlibrary Services staff at 626-815-6000 ext. 3272 or illdept@apu.edu.
