Visitors to the Libraries

The University Libraries welcome visitors who are not a part of the University community. However, for the safety of our community and our visitors we ask that you register at the Circulation Desk at your first visit.

Local Community Visitors

Courtesy Patrons with Library privileges: You may register as a Courtesy Patron with privileges (book checkout, computer use, etc.) by paying a fee of $20.00/year. A picture ID is required upon registration. The registration fee is waived for alumni and local clergy, who will need to show proof of alumni or clergy status.

Courtesy Patrons without Library privileges: You may register as a visitor (Courtesy Patron without privileges) by presenting a picture ID and filling out the registration form.

Visitors who are a part of official APU-guided tours are not required to register at the Circulation desk.

Consortial Visitors

If you are a member of a consortium that grants APU Library privileges, you may register as a Courtesy Patron by presenting your consortium card and a picture ID.

Library Privileges

Although Courtesy Patrons may use the APU library resources, priority is given to the APU community. In addition, certain restrictions on database use and electronic resources may exist.

Courtesy privileges include the checkout of books for four weeks, with four renewals possible. Overdue materials are fined at a rate of 25¢/day. The replacement fee for lost books is $75.00 plus a $10.00 processing fee. Excessive overdues or loss of materials may result in the termination of library privileges.
